Chris Ballinger is the CEO and Co-founder of the Mobility Open Blockchain Initiative (MOBI), a consortium of government agencies, academic institutions, companies, and public organizations exploring blockchain and distributed ledger technology to improve mobility, transit, and logistics. Chris’ background includes senior positions in fintech, mobility and innovation. After receiving a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, Chris served as a Staff Economist at the President’s Council of Economic Advisors under President Reagan and Senior Vice President of Treasury at Bank of America. Chris then moved into the mobility sector, serving 14 years at Toyota Financial Services, where he served in various global leadership roles, including SVP, CFO, and Chief of Strategic Innovation. In April 2017, Chris joined the Toyota Research Institute as CFO and Director of Mobility and Blockchain Services. Since launching MOBI in May 2018, Chris has been at the forefront of the new economy of movement.
