Nadia Hewett leads projects for the World Economic Forum that shape the future of technology governance. Under her leadership, in collaboration with a global hub of expertise and multi-stakeholder communities, deliverables focus on maximizing data use and emerging technologies to benefit society while protecting users from risks associated with the data economy. The frameworks and policies designed and piloted, explore forward-looking and trustworthy ways to fuel innovation and accelerate responsible use of data at the intersection of 4IR technologies, including blockchain, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things and other. Prior to the Forum, she was Head of Supply Chain for Maersk America and participated in global trade digitization efforts. She has an extensive background in digitization, strategy, product management, sales and operations, having worked with Maersk for more than a decade on major initiatives across the globe. She has lived and worked across Asia, Europe, Africa and the last 9 years in the Americas. Nadia has been published in over 100 articles and 20 papers in more than 30 languages and is an accomplished speaker on emerging technologies. She possesses a deep passion for addressing critical, complex issues facing society. She holds an MBA with Kellogg School of Management and a BA at Stellenbosch University, South Africa.
