Roman Beck

Professor and Head of European Blockchain Center, IT University of Copenhagen

Roman Beck is Full Professor within the Business IT department at IT University of Copenhagen and Head of the European Blockchain Center. As Blockchain economist, his research focuses on the role of changing nature of work due to Blockchain with focus on governance and value creation in decentralized systems. The European Blockchain Center is running a Blockchain Academy for C-level managers as well as a Blockchain Business Bridge with an office in Shanghai. According to the CEO World Magazine, IT University of Copenhagen is one of the leading universities for blockchain education in the world!

Roman is Head of the Danish ISO TC 307 Blockchain & Distributed Ledger Technology standardization group and Convenor of ISO TC 307 WG5 Blockchain Governance standardization. Roman represents Denmark at the European Blockchain Partnership Technical Working Group in Brussels to develop the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure. Roman is member of the OECD Blockchain Expert Policy Advisory Board.

Roman is Co-Conference Chair ECIS 2021 in Timișoara and Co-Conference Chair ICIS 2022 in Copenhagen. He is Senior Editor at the DATA BASE for Advances in Information Systems (DataBase) journal and Department Editor at the Business and Information Systems Engineering (BISE) journal. Roman is among the top 5% of all German professors in business administration according to research output rankings.
